Henry David Thoreau, although not a professing Christian, had some interesting wisdom to share. One of his most quoted sayings "...The Mass of Men Lead Lives of Quiet Desperation..." has more Biblical truths to it than he could have imagined and it's because this is the human condition. Searching for meaning, purpose, identity, etc. in a lost, diseased and dying world. HDT had it right, however he didn't tell you the rest of the story...as we know the scriptures do share the good news about how this "desperation" can only be quenched through an abiding relationship with our triune God, and a saving relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.
There comes a point in everyman's life where he comes to the crossroads of deciding which voices he's going to listen to and follow... what Calling are are we going to heed. What Do You Really Want for and from your life and Why? Are you heeding the calling from the Lord, or from the world?
Spend some time praying and seriously pondering these 4 revealing questions to get some clarity and determine your true motifs behind what's driving you to press on:
1. What's Your What? and what's the Why behind your what?
2. How do you define True Success?

4. Who are you called to Serve and Why?
